Pregnancy Class Series
(Free and in-person.)
Join our four-week course on pregnancy, starting with an individually scheduled 1-hour session with our RN patient educator before starting the 3 group classes on Thursdays, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm starting the first Thursday of every (almost) month. Dinner will be provided and you will have an opportunity to ask your pregnancy-related questions to our staff, which includes a Registered Nurse and a Registered Dietitian. Each class also includes special baby gift(s)!

Individual Class 1 – Your Expectations of Pregnancy (1st Trimester)
This getting-started-with-pregnancy individual session with our RN patient educator will review your needs and offer tips for managing symptoms of morning sickness, fatigue, the emotional impact of pregnancy, and what to expect or consider for prenatal care and providers. Explore ways dad can be involved and supported during pregnancy.
Note: Childcare is not available at this time in the group classes. Children are welcome if there is someone (ie spouse) coming who will care for them quietly. (Some toys/activities are made available)

Expecting 2nd Trimester/Eating for Two
This class covers changes to expect in your 2nd trimester and how to eat to maintain your good health while you grow a strong and healthy baby. Learn about the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy and how to deal with them while you and your partner begin to bond with your unborn baby.

3th Trimester and Preparing for The Final Stretch
Learn about the 3rd trimester, childbirth planning tips, and things to get done to be ready for your new baby. We will discuss different forms of pain management, things to include in baby’s first aid kit, preparing a space and the equipment the baby will need as well as things to consider when packing your bags for the big day.

4th “Trimester” – The Baby is Here–Now What?
Discusses what to expect during labor and after delivery and your first few weeks of being at home with your baby. Learn about how to tell if you are in labor, when to go to the hospital and understand the different stages of labor. Review postpartum recovery tips and tools.
This FREE series repeats every month starting on the 1st Thursday of almost every month. You may attend any missed classes in the next series.

These single-session “bonus” classes are on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. (except during holidays) and will also provide dinner for two. Topics may vary based on attendee interests. You may continue to attend this class every month if the topic might meet your interest or needs.

Baby’s Christmas Party
This is a “reunion” party for all past or present Embracing Pregnancy and Embracing Parenting class attendees with their born or unborn babies! Enjoy fellowship over a lasagna dinner and dessert, decorate holiday cookies, exchange a baby-theme ornament and take home some baby “stuff”. Fun for all! Embracing Fatherhood, Part One
This class is especially designed for dads to focus on their role in the pregnancy and parenting. Dad’s often feel helpless and a little left out. How can you help your pregnant “mama” get through the challenges with mood changes in both of you? This class will help you with ideas of things you can do for her and how you can start to bond with your growing baby.
