Classes

At Hope Clinic, we believe every parent has the opportunity to thrive when given access to great tools, accurate information, and encouragement. Thriving parents lead to healthy, thriving children and communities, which is why we are happy to provide in-person prenatal and new parent classes, at no cost, to the public. Online video classes can also be arranged.


Pregnancy Class Series (Free and in-person).

Join our monthly four-week course on pregnancy, taking place on Wednesdays, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm starting the first Wednesday of every month. A hot meal will be served and you will have an opportunity to ask your pregnancy-related questions to our staff, which includes a registered nurse and a registered dietitian. Each class also includes free gift(s) and/or door prize!

February 1
Class 1: Your Expectations of Pregnancy (1st Trimester)
This getting-started-with-pregnancy class offers tips for managing symptoms of morning sickness, fatigue, the emotional impact of pregnancy, and what to expect for prenatal care.

February 8
Class 2: Sailing along in Pregnancy /Eating for Two
This class covers changes to expect in your 2nd trimester and how to eat to maintain your good health while you grow a strong and healthy baby. Learn about the emotional ups and downs of pregnancy and how to deal with them while you begin to bond with your unborn baby.

February 15
Class 3: Preparing for The Final Stretch

Learn what to expect during the 3rd trimester, childbirth planning tips, and getting ready for your new baby. Learn about nesting.

February 22
Class 4: What Comes Last?
Then What?
Discusses what to expect during labor and after delivery and your first few weeks of being a new family.

This FREE series repeats every month starting with the 1st Wed of every month. You may attend missed classes in the next series.

Upcoming Embracing Parenting Bonus Classes:

These single-session classes are Mondays at 6:00 p.m. and provide dinner for the couple.

January 30: Finding Affordable Quality Childcare

In this class, participants will learn about the different types of available childcare in Oregon along with tips and tricks to help you find care for your child.  We will discuss what to look for when seeking high-quality care for your child and what resources are available to assist eligible parents with the cost of care.  This class will be provided by Heather Freilinger, Program Coordinator of Care Connections & Education, a Child Care Resource and Referral agency serving Douglas, Klamath, and Lake counties.

February 6 Feeding Your Baby

Learn your baby’s hunger cues and when to feed… then how to recognize when baby is full and stop feeding! Discuss the benefits of breastfeeding v.s. bottle feeding and other issues surrounding feeding your baby. Learn about resources available in our valley for feeding.
