Abortion

An unexpected pregnancy can be a scary and confusing time. Friends, family, and even a partner may all have differing opinions which can lead to feeling overwhelmed and more confused. Hope Clinic is here to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment, medical services and education, and the space to reflect on the options you are considering before you decide.

We do not provide or refer for abortion services. Instead, we are here to give you the one-one-one support you need as you walk through your decision process.

Here’s how we can help:

  1. Verify Your Pregnancy

Before getting any type of abortion, you first need to know for sure if you are pregnant. Even if you have pregnancy symptoms or have taken a home test, you may want help verifying your pregnancy. Hope Clinic provides pregnancy testing and offers a limited obstetric ultrasound, at no cost, to confirm your pregnancy and determine how far along you are.

  1. Get an Ultrasound to Determine a Viable Pregnancy and Approximate Gestational Age

An ultrasound is the most accurate way to determine how many weeks pregnant you are. Once your pregnancy is confirmed, your nurse will determine if you qualify for a free limited obstetric ultrasound from Hope Clinic. This will tell you approximately how many weeks pregnant you are, which affects what kind of abortion procedure would be performed. An ultrasound will also tell you if your pregnancy is viable with a heartbeat and if the pregnancy is located within the uterus (not ectopic). An ectopic pregnancy is a serious condition that requires immediate medical attention.

  1. Gather Information and Reflect

When faced with a major decision, navigating all the factors involved can be challenging, especially if you aren’t sure who to talk to. At Hope Clinic, we take time to listen to your needs and concerns. Our caring medical staff will help you learn about abortion procedures and documented risk factors so that you can make an informed decision without feeling pressured or rushed. You deserve to be fully informed. This decision is yours to make. No one can force you to terminate your pregnancy, even if you are a minor.

Hope Clinic offers pregnancy diagnosis, options education, and evidence-based education about all pregnancy options; however, we do not offer or refer for abortion services. All ultrasounds are read by a physician who makes the diagnosis and determines the gestational age.

If you have taken the first abortion pill (RU-486 / mifepristone) but not the second pill (misoprostol), the abortion process may be reversible. If you are interested in reversing the process, contact the Abortion Pill Rescue Network as soon as possible at 1-877-558-0333.
